  Authentic southern comfort food. Come hungry for the hoe cakes. Be sure to bring a responsible designated driver because you'll be in a food coma at the end.  We went on Saturday night and caught the complimentary show that comes with dinner. Fantastic performance and delicious food!

  Wish I had read honest reviews before deciding to eat here. Not worth it! Keep driving! Don't stop! The food is at best "ok"  and the price is crazy expensive relative to the quality. How this restaurant is rated  "$$" is confusing. Our bill for 4 was over $90 (before tip) for marginal food. Will NEVER go back.

  This place was a huge disappointment.. my family and I went there anticipating something similar to Daniel Boone Inn and let me tell ya it was not even close!! The fried chicken had no flavor, the ham was tough, the creamed corn was well not creamy, their chicken gravy was the consistency of water, their infamous "hoe cakes"/ "biscuits" were terrible they tasted like straight flour. About the only good things were green beans, mashed potatoes and apples and I'm sorry I would not pay 20$/ person for a couple okay veggies. Would not recommend..you can get a better cheaper meal at cracker barrell. First and last time we'll ever be going.

  The experience alone is worth 5 stars, there is simply no place like it around. You wouldn't imagine a restaurant being out in the country like this, and the log cabin style is really cool. This place is definitely best for big groups and to come very hungry. The food is southern comfort style, and is pretty good for that style of food. If you're into blue grass music, you can go down after eating and listen to it before you go home.

  I wish we'd known ahead of time that this was a family style restaurant where you don't order off the menu per se, instead they bring bowls of food to your table from a set menu of the day. It is all you can eat for the price ($18 per person with tax and beverage), but with just the two of us, we couldn't even finish the first helping of what they brought so no room for seconds. When I asked if we could take what they'd brought in the initial first helping home since we couldn't finish it we were told no. Needless to say we weren't happy to hear that. We rarely if ever go somewhere where it's $18 per person when you order off the menu, but if we did we'd surely have leftovers to take home. Not here.
  
  The food itself was just okay. Fried chicken was dry, fried fish was unevenly cooked, country ham was like cheap bacon ends. The sides were so-so too. All in all we were not thrilled with the experience on any level. I know locals seem to like it, but it really isn't that good IMO, especially for the price.
